Then I’ll need the longer arms accessory..to hold the device farther away…so I can read it.
I would have liked to have seen one of these videos done circa 1900: Did you know that in only three years man will fly, and only 10 years later people will be traveling to their vacation destinations through the air? Did you know that thirty years from now people will be watching remote pictures with sound in a box in their homes? World’s changing fast, and yet, humans pretty much remain the same as they were in Rome a couple thousand years ago.
I agree, Joe.
I’ve been watching a PBS dvd “The Roman Empire in the First Century” and have to stop it frequently to reflect on the similarities: violent coups, assassination, overarching ambition, civil war, clashes between classes as well as the sexes, personal freedom vs government control, the effect personalities and mental instabilities or retarded/sheltered development can have on a civilization.
I have never done it, but on ocassion, I have had a strong urge to thrown my hightech devices against the wall, through the window, into the lake…or just as far as I could throw.Making caveman sounds in the process, of course.
Xman I agree about getting rid of many of these high tech toys. The younger generation is being absorbed by them. They allow these gadgets to do all their thinking for them.
Educator can’t figure out why as a nation we are so poor in math. In our day we memorized the time table and could do math problems in our head in a flash. Now they allow kids to use calculators, leaving the thinking part to the calculator.
People like you and I could survive if the system crashed; but way to many would perish, not being told what to do next by a computer. We know the basics of survivle and how to cope with problems. We stored information in our heads for future use. Now people don’t bother since they can look it up quickly on a computer or phone, never thinking what would happen if all those gadgets failed.
JOE Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Xman A Merry Cristmas to your also.
Hope we all have a healthy and a very happy New Year
Yeah,*** Merry Christmas***, everybody.
This blog is a surprising source of inspiration,
I intend to make caveman sounds from here on out.

In case you need a lesson or two……
Haha…funny clip. Pretty cool animation.
Talking about the similarities between 21st century empires (U.S.) and Rome, I was also struck by the crapload of similarities watching Ben Hur last night (great movie by the way!)
Merry Christmas to you all!
Joe I am dating myself a bit, but I went to see Ben Hur on the silver screen when it first came out, for a grammar school field trip.
I’m talking about the one with Heston, and not the silent one.
Happy New Year Joe, Xman and Indigo.
Same to you all.
I’m on a solidarity hunger strike with Hedy Epstein…as part of my rsolution to talk less and do more.
This video reminds me how we live in a society where change in the area of technology is so constant that it is taken for granted.
