Feels So Good!

The original 9-minute album version of Chuck Mangione’s 1977 masterpiece, Feels So Good, always puts a smile on my face.

But believe me when I say: manualist Jerry Phillips has taken this tune to a whole new level of feel good!

Watch: Feels So Good!

Here’s a link to the original short version, featuring the now legendary guitar solo by Grant Geissman that begins at the 1:30 mark.

I guess one has to respect even unorthodox talent.
But I just kept thinking of a hungry bush and cheney at a chili cookoff.

I saw Chuck at Kingsbury Hall in the 70’s in Salt Lake sometime after the army.
    Good show.
You are right, great solo @ 1:30.

VERRRRY unorthodox talent, but darn if I can get a peep out of my hands. The subtle facial expressions in the video still crack me up…tittering between concentration and “I know how goofy this is” and “damn, I’m good!” After seeing this video, I’m almost certain that Mona Lisa was painted right after she’d given an impromptu manualist performance…the smile on her face is almost the exact same mysterious expression seen over and over in the above video, albeit Mona Lisa is miles more attractive than Jerry ;-)
