Enjoyed it, but at the same time, he seems a little hypocritical, doesn't he? Like he maybe puts a little too much faith in his atheism own atheism? I'm not one to go out and try to convert everybody, am all about tolerance, but I have seen evidence that there is some sort of collective energy...be it only collective consciousness or be it a collective consciousness with a sum that is greater than the whole of human consciousness, or be it an external consciousness...there is convincing evidence in my opinion that more exists than can be explained by bare-bones physical reality as it was taught to me in school. So, he's being a little disrespectful himself to say he mocks folks who believe in a God -- even though some of those people are very tolerant, objective folks who are trying to follow the evidence, not simply believing out of faith...he sort of lumps all believers into the evangelical fundamentalist camp.

Hey, I'm listening to a great college class from Stanford University's online offering (http://itunes.stanford.edu/) You need iTunes, but go to the Arts and Humanities courses, and then the course is called Historical Jesus, by Thomas Sheehan. Using new findings from scholars and archeology, he goes back and tries to piece together what the person known as Jesus (Yeshua) really said (it's almost certain Jesus didn't think and never said he was God incarnate...) and what the times were like and what really happened...very very interesting take on how a wise man's life can be hijacked and turned into an intolerant religion...but very absorbing to listen to somebody so knowledgeable talk about the guy without all the emotional "just-take-it-on-faith" baggage...fun to hear somebody dig into evidence for the truth and use logic and the historical record to get to truth.

I don't believe our government is 100% murderous fiends either, John. I believe the government is made up of many layers and tentacles and I can believe that one layer of the onion could have been bad and allowed this to happen thinking it would ultimately create a better world for all concerned in the long run, but I'm not convinced of that either. I am convinced there is a layer of the government that knows more about what happened on 9/11, and that that layer is withholding information and spreading disinformation, and that the ultimate truth would reveal a lot of shades of gray that would fragment a lot of the country, and that may be the reason the truth is being withheld. But, being curious, I still want to know as many facts as possible, and I think putting facts out there (like the fact you submitted about airliner aluminum being one of the combustibles in the twin tower inferno...something I'd never thought about or heard before...something that could shed some light on some so-far unexplainable symptoms...) is a good thing, whatever direction it leads in.
