Now we will see who owns the Democrats. The one really good thing out of this is I believe Obama will get to place a Supreme or two.
Yep…no time for a honeymoon. Time to start holding Obama’s feet to the fire…can’t let up reminding him, and Pelosi, and Reid, they work for us.
The work is just beginning — but I’m joyful for today.
Did a victory dance in my living room last night, listened to Barack say that now the work begins. Looking for ways to do my part. All I did to help get him there was talk to friends, post a few blog comments and donate money a few times. I think we’ll find the easy part is behind us. I expect the Fox nuts will miss the opportunity and decide to dig in. I hope I’m wrong. In anycase, I’m hopeful they will either join up or be left in the irrelevant dust.
Well Joe, you COULD summer in Canada, and rest easy in leaving the driving to THAT ONE. There’s something to be said for that.
I feel a lingering buzz from last night, and I didn’t touch a thing, it was just an electric moment. Anyone who wasn’t moved by the magic in the air last night has no soul. I’m thinking of those booing toads at McCain’s concession speech (and probably a host of simpering Foxtards…(I haven’t risked the tarnishing effects, lately, but I’m going to check soon, bwahahahhaaaa)).
What a moment for the people! I want to celebrate the joy with La Sirena… and…for archived posterity…secure a black market video of Xman doing his living room victory dance (anyone who has leads on this will be dealt with confidentially). This is truly historical. Hysterically historical.
I’m gonna laugh myself silly. CHEERS! It’s a new day.
Hey Indigo,
This white man can’t usually dance, but I think I tapped into a little bit of soul from deep in my dna last night. 40 year old scotch and a new york steak helped the mood. Oh yeah, I wasn’t wearing any…..socks. Now I have my socks back on and I’m curled up with my Barnes and Noble purchase…another celebration….the “Audacity of Hope” book.
Sorry no video, but if Joe had a youtube feature, I might be tempted to make one. I am so happy I can’t stop talking.
It did seem like there was a bit more crisp, bright, SOMETHING in the dawn this morning, and when I saw the a U.S. flag on the way to work, I felt more proud and grateful than I have in a long while. At the same time, I did notice today that there are a lot of very pissed, very bitter right-wingers, who feel like their country has abandoned them…and I remember that feeling, too from 2000 and 2004, and so I have been cautiuos not to gloat too much, and that’s why I’ve already taken down my Obama yard sign (unlike a neighbor who left their “W - still the president” sign up until 2006), and another thing — I’ve made sure to only lapse into a victory celebration dance when nobody’s looking :-)
That’s a class act.
No, not all the declarations of dubious dancing, but the timely taking down of the sign.
Who needs pyrrhic victories?

ceremonial dance, ritual dance, ritual dancing - a dance that is part of a religious ritual

Joe can I have that ticket of yours to Canada?
It’s one thing to savor a victory, but another as this maddness is taking on a life of its own and one can’t walk down the street, pick up a paper or watch TV without being costantly assaulted with one story after another.
Reading the papers and listening to the Sunday News shows I am being led to believe that he will walk across Lake Michigan and go to Detroit and with a wave of his hand cure the ailing auto industry. After that he will touch people and cure them of all their ailments and there will be no need for health insurance. Finally he will float over to the Treasurt Department as he takes one stimulus check and multiplies them so that we will never have to fear about paying our bills and fear any financial woes.
Toronto is nice, but if I move there it I want it to be because I want to live there, not because the US has gone to pot.
I’m hoping Canada invades Mexico.
That would be interesting.
