Small Town Mayberry Endorses Obama

First Colin Powell, and now this: Sheriff Andy Taylor endorses Obama. Who next — Santa Claus? Norman Rockwell? The Easter Bunny?

Only days after VP candidate Sarah Palin insinuated that people in small towns are the only “real” Americans, Mayberry, the most famous small town of all, turns up in the Obama camp.

This begs the question: What will McCain’s responsive attack ad be? Sheriff Taylor, the terrorist? Aunt Bea, the radical Muslim? Barney Fife: born in a foreign tribe to a green and purple father?

Regardless of politics, I thought it was a delight to see Opie and Andy with their fishing poles again.

    Very good Joe,
I think Andy, The Fonz and the rest are okay, but I am pretty sure Barney Fife WAS born in a foreign tribe to a green and purple father.

  2. Bartholomew says:

Hey, Joe. I’d be curious how a real Obama supporter would do by taking this test:

    BarackObamaTest.com

Yes, it’s an anti-obama site, so that’s why I’m curious how you’d do.

  3. Xman says:

    Bart,
What a fascist Fox network, yelling fire in a crowed theater, knee jerk test.
Come back when you are ready for a serious discussion.

  4. Bartholomew says:

I don’t understand your objection, Xman. It seems like a fair test to me. What about it is fascist? I’d really like to know so I can think about it.

  5. Xman says:

    Give me a break, Bart.
Okay, I’m going to give you only one example among the many in the test, then I’m done wasting my time.
    1. A large percentage of questions make statements as if they were undisputed facts and then ask how you feel about them.

Bartholomew: Thanks for the question…got me to really thinking, and the reply got so long, I put it in a post: Logical or Emotional Government.

I had the chance to see Don Knotts at a free campus appearance in the 1980s, and I had to go study for a test, so I just peeked in the door…I don’t even remember what class I was studying for, all I remember now is missing seeing the concert…wish I’d stayed and watched and made an F. But he was a pretty weird “green and purple” sort of dude ;-)
