OK, Xman. To belabor this, as I’m wont to do, you sharpen the point and force my reaction.

I’m not so sure everyone acts out of good conscience. I mean, compulsive liars are compelled to “embellish” the truth whenever possible, while sociopaths operate out of a whole other set of anti-ethics which seems to be the gathering style of the successful American. It’s the new view.

We seem to be swimming in confused seas of sharp-eyed sharks, who will consume themselves as they consume the rest…if this scenario plays out.

I tend to agree with Bill Joy, we don’t have that much time to get sorted.

I knew what you were saying, Indigo. Of course I agree. I guess I am more and more doubtful of the general public’s ability to really know if they are operating out of “good” conscience (they all think they are). As you know there are far more programmed little parrots than there are those who know they are programmed and are trying to shake it. In fact, the programmed little parrots think those who are trying to throw off the programming are the parrots. It is strangely comforting to know that in 50,000 years or so, the general public will look apon us as cavemen….maybe of the “Redneckianthal Period”.

Touche’, Xman. My referencing the “good people” is merely a way to differentiate between those operating out of good conscience as opposed to bigotry or deceit. But, I guess there are the sincerely bigoted.

As I read your comment, I couldn’t help but wonder if fear of uncouth thugs or bigger willies would be on the table in the upcoming debate.

As the poet said: Logic is a poor weapon against fear.
In the Rocky Mountains, I am surrounded by fear. Naked fear that a Black man will make whitey pay for all the past crimes. Fear that White religion will be replaced or threatened by black religion…the kind where people jump, roll and shout in the aisles. Fear that the elegant grace of whiteness in traditional ceremonies, offices, etc. will be replaced by blacks who are only one generation from uncouth thugs. Fear and a belief that blacks are closer to apes than whites…so whites should be in charge. Fear that their daughters will be attracted to blacks. White guys know blacks dominate sports, and have bigger willies, so they fear their own obsolesence. Fear that blacks will embrace terrorists. My own mother thinks blacks have their own unique smell…I would have to guess, not a good one.

I can’t think of a way to counter all this nonsense. But I know it will be in the primitive, non-evolved brains of many “good people” as they go into the ballot box.
