Iraq Signs $3 Billion Oil Deal With China
Don’t get me wrong…I am definitely against invading another country in order to steal their oil.
However:
IF a small group of oil-hungry neocons is going to sacrifice the twin towers to set the stage for an idealogical war that is a poor cover for an invasion, and…
IF those Big Oil neocons are going to convince our government to blow $572 Billion of our tax dollars on a quagmire, and…
IF the poorly-planned operation has already taken the lives of 4,150 of America’s brave soldiers, not to mention the lives of over 1.2 million civilians in Iraq…
Then, for godsake, Bush and Cheney, don’t let China walk away with the freakin’ oil:
It was the first time in more than 35 years that Iraq has allowed foreign oil companies to do business inside its borders.
The contract with the China National Petroleum Corporation could be worth up to $3 billion. It would allow the CNPC to develop an oil field in southern Iraq’s Wasit province for about 20 years, Oil Ministry spokesman Assim Jihad said.
Iraq’s Cabinet must still approve the contract, but Jihad said that would happen soon and work could start within a few months.

well said. and if i recall correctly, i believe the chinese are already angle drilling not to far off our coasts in international waters, where they could easily tap into our oilfields(the ones we can’t drill because of environmental protection). maybe this is how we are paying off all that money we owe them.
Another deal made with a foreign country for their right to drill for oil. What a slap in the face to all who died fighting in Iraq. Bush and Cheyney should be proud of themselves. China’s already drinking up the oil the world has to offer.
China financed the war, so it isn’t surprising that they are getting some of the spoils. We need to end the war and stop borrowing money from China.
well, it is a small justice in the end….. for the crimes of this administration and the countless lives taken, both american and iraqi, based on a so called war on terror.
Bush and Chaneye can be blamed for a lot of things. But without the full co-operation from the rest of the boys and girls on the hill all these screw ups would not be possible.
Instead of keeping tabs on the party of ones choice to see that they are doing their job and keeping their promises, we are to busy blaming the other for all the ills and woes.
Bush and Chaneye may have gotten the ball rolling on this war for oil, but who voted to give him the power to go to war.

Yep, Kucinich was the only one truly sticking his neck out to impeach these guys, and Conyers always teased us about it, and Harry Reid and Pelosi just didn’t do their job and follow through after the 2006 election…they should have cleaned house. And the whole bunch should have done their job and investigated BushCo lies about the reasons for going to war in 2003…that’s their job in a checks-and-balances government, and they didn’t check or balance BushCo, but protected their own necks by putting on their flag pins and pretending to smile while the shock and awe kicked off the quagmire and the war profiteers looted this nation that was already trillions of dollars in debt. Not a pretty picture on either side of the aisle.
The Government and Big business and Bankers are the Morlocks and we all are the Eloi (see The Time Machine). The game for them has been how to keep us ignorant and unable to learn while they continue to take advantage of us. It has now moved further. Greed and impatience with gentle persuasion has brought about a new product which they tested at the DNC and the RNC. Fusion coersion. It was important to display this new capability on a world stage in order to discourage any awakening souls to lift their chins off their chest.
This news and this convention — none of it is helping my digestion.
