Thanks Indigo,
The cycles are what will save us. It reminds me of Chauncy Gardener in "Being There". When the simple gardener offers simple truisms to our country in a time of moral need. He talks about the refreshing nature of the seasons(cycles).

I know the feeling, Xman, but it's sort of like what Richard Feynman said about Quantum Physics, "If you think you understand it, then you don't." Or what David Ferrie said about the JFK mystery being a mystery wrapped in a riddle.

Seems to me the Puppetmasters got their lines tangled awhile back, and can't tell what string jerks which appendage. All that is certain are the jerks.

They pretend to achievement and control, yet things are seriously out of control, and until the powers that be are willing to recognize that fact, the public dialog will be a lie. I choke on the smoke and bogus sunshine they send up over the Iraq situation. Bushco has been running out the clock forever, it seems. Like cockroaches after the light-switch is thrown, watch 'em disappear as soon as possible.

My view changed entirely when I began to see things as more cyclical, and less linear. Our culture's linearity of ever onward and upward ignores the fact that great civilizations can collapse, and ours isn't immune. Indeed, it is teetering.

Part of me is beginning to feel that my basic/default assumption is all wrong. The assumption that reason, logic and fairness are present in both sides. Recently, I'm beginning to suspect that there is really only one side...and that is the invisible puppet masters who control what looks like two sides. They pull their strings way up high above in the rigging of the stage where the audience can't see them....so we assume they don't really exist. We fall for the act on the stage being played by presidents, business leaders, and religious leaders. But we don't see the strings attached to these people. We think they are in charge.

Motives, Indigo, I suspect are the old tried and true, but well disguised ones. The old question: "Who benefits"? should always lead us to the puppet masters if we were skilled enough to see through the confusion. I am thinking it is always all about the money. I don't think these big boys care a wit about religion or politics except as tools to get what they want. They simply want to own Park Place, Boardwalk, the utilities and the railroads and collect anytime we land on them...as well as have private/stacked access to "Community Chest".

That's about as far out there as I can get and still find my way safely home.

Ever wonder what form the dialog and outrage would take should the unwashed masses have access to ALL the facts?

Seems we're kept running in circles, focused on all the rings of the circus except for the one with the fully legitimate drama.

It's difficult to even discern motives, let alone objectives.
