XMAN, I will tell you why they are not doing it here. They are to busy sitting around camp fires and laughing at seeing how we have been reacting ever since 9/11. All they have to do is make a video, and sit back as the fun begins.

Lately I've been thinking along your lines, Joe. If there have been littlebands of terrorists throughout our country since 9/11, where are the incidents?
Sure, we have a guy with a match in his shoe, we have guys who never got past the talking stage no matter how hard the fbi undercover guy pushed them, we have money going here and there to either educate people about muslims or help them eat, we have muslims (and others)mad about things. But if the threat is real, where are the actual incidents?

Do we have fbi agents on every dark skinned person, watching and thwarting every move?

We are told everyday all day long about some mass destruction event that looms over us and can get us at any moment.

I look to the the examples the "enemy" DOES give us everyday: Car bombs, IED's and kidnappings. These are all small volume (relative to 9/11) events, but cumulativly, far bigger.

WHY ARE THEY NOT DOING THAT HERE IF THERE IS SUCH A THREAT THAT WE HAVE TO SUSPEND AND IGNORE OUR CONSTITUTION AND BANKRUPT OUR COUNTRY?

How hard is it to build fertilizer bombs like Oklahoma city? How hard is it to pack a car full of stuff and drive downtown? How hard is it to blow up buses and trains? How hard is it to poison air and water supplies?

If there were little squads of dark skinned enemy people throughout our country, they would be doing just what they are doing in Iraq. Those people in Iraq are doing it under martial law! They are getting impossible to get supplies in a police state!

I just don't buy that terrorists are only interested in the BIG event. The proof is, they do far more damage doing lots of little ones. Where are the little ones in our country?

Maybe the sky is not falling, Chicken Little. Maybe their is just a fox in the henhouse who's nature it is to steal rather than pay a fair/market price?

As explained on page 152 of one of my favorite books, Freakonomics, 5 million child car seats sold in the USA each year only save about 2 lives per year that wouldn't have been saved anyway by just making the kids sit in the back seat and wear a regular seatbelt. But, the fear being peddled of what might happen if the kids aren't in their child seats makes the industry a lot of money...just like the fear of terrorists is making some folks a lot of money. Heck, it's a whole new industry! Now there's a need for all those products we only imagined when we read 1984.
