Get A Clue, America!
While Bush asks Congress for $189 billion more in war funding, the U.S. State Department has announced it has lost $1.2 billion that was supposed to go toward training Iraqi police.
This war scam has gone on so long, instead of being outraged, I’m telling my children things are just like the good old days. You remember the good old days, over three years ago when the government lost track of $9 billion in Iraq.
Let’s not forget that all these extra hundreds of billions of dollars to fight wars with are on top of the already gargantuan percentage of our tax dollars that are already set aside to keep the military running.
Here’s some numbers for pause from Globalissues.org via Timothy V. Gatto:
Would it upset you to know that China, the #2 country for military expenditures only spends 6% of its budget on the military? Russia, #3, is the same. Iran, the big boogie man of the Middle East that we are so worried about according to Dick Cheney, is #27 with a whopping $4.9 Billion Dollar budget with 1% of their budget spent on the military. It’s estimated that the United States will spend 52% of its budget, and 481.4 Billion dollars on defense this year, and that’s not counting the money for the war in Iraq which so far we have spent $130 Billion Dollars on this year and another $190 Billion that the President has requested. Isn’t this a little bit of overkill?
And there’s nothing you can do about it. Have a nice day! ;-)

Upon retirement many members of congress and the military go to work for companies that had lucrative contracts with the governament. A life time ban for them and their families to do so would solve a great majority of the problems.
How many times have we seen these culprits receive multi million dollar salaries for repayment of their work on behalf of these companies in getting legislation or contracts passed favoring them.
A recent story told of a senator and his staff who retired early after getting legislation passed favoring a drug company. Now they all lobby for this company on the hill with lucrative pay packages from it.
Greed has grown to monumental proportions in this country and sorry to say is growing by leeps and bounds wih no end in sigth.

It’s not cheap to be a Roman and rule the world. So many little piglets want their place at the trough. Have you ever seen pigs fight for their place? WoW! What a noise. High pitched squealing, grunting, biting, pushing, shoving, telling on each other, more grunting. It never ends as long as there is something to eat…and even after it is all gone, it takes awhile for the commotion to die down. Gee, kind of like watching our leaders…day in and day out. Time to read Animal Farm again.

USA TODAY published an article about how the war is going to cost each American $8,000. Most of that will be to companies that are just looking for handouts and overcharging our government.

I’ve been so angry, I haven’t been able to comment.
And I’m pissed off that Stark apologized as his comment on Capitol Hill was probably one of the first honest pronunciations made there this year.
I’m just mad, mad, mad that they keep simultaneously sucking at our pockets and Iraq’s life blood. Liars and hippocrites!
Grrrrrrrrr……

And all the war spending is “off budget,” correct? All “supplemental?” We pretend it doesn’t exist when pondering the national debt?

why do you say that, ‘there is nothing you can do about it?’ if information is power then you all are sitting on it. Simple, first vote these republican out of power, make sure the obama thing is not the other head of the same snake and then civil sue the 9/11 commision for re hearings and evidences ( key - wtc 7) publicly , this time chenny in the hot seat… the weak link is larry silverstein, grind him in the hearing.. and the rest will be history. now are the smart bloggers & the micheal moores of this world up to it?
