Ye Whoreson Cozening Joltheads

It could be straight out of a Shakespearean comedy: Israeli ambassador found drunk, naked, and wearing…

Well, it’s NOT from a play; it’s actually from The Guardian:

As an Israeli ambassador, Tsuriel Raphael was accomplished at putting a gloss on delicate subjects, be it Tel Aviv’s nuclear programme, the treatment of Palestinians or the invasion of Lebanon.

When San Salvador police discovered him in his official embassy residence yard in the capital San Salvador, however, smooth talk was not really an option. For starters there was the gag and the rubber ball in his mouth. There was also the matter of being drunk. And naked. And bound. And surrounded by sex toys.

Mr. Raphael was able to identify himself after police removed the rubber ball. Two weeks ago, immediately after the incident occurred, he was recalled to Israel. The Foreign Ministry is searching for a replacement.

Whoreson Newt Gingrich

In other whoreson news, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich finally came clean and admitted to having an affair. The affair was hot and heavy at the same time Gingrich was leading the battle to get President Bill Clinton impeached for—bitter hypocrisy!—lying about his own affair with Monica Lewinsky.

Let’s put Newt’s revelation in context:

1962: Gingrich, 19, marries his high school geometry teacher Jackie Battley, 26. They quickly have two children.

1977: Gingrich has an affair with a married woman, Anne Manning.

1980: While wife Jackie is in the hospital recovering from uterine cancer surgery, Gingrich insists on talking about terms for their divorce. Then, he refuses to pay alimony or child support.

According to L.H. Carter, Gingrich’s own campaign treasurer, Newt had this to say about his wife Jackie: “She’s not young enough or pretty enough to be the wife of the President. And besides, she has cancer.”

1981: Six months after divorcing Jackie, Gingrich marries Marianne Ginther, with whom he has been having an affair while married to Jackie…

1993: While married to Marianne, Gingrich, 50, and congressional aide Callista Bisek, 27, in her own words, “really started to know each other.”

1999: While Marianne is in Ohio celebrating her mom’s 84th birthday, Gingrich calls, wishes his mother-in-law a happy birthday, then tells his wife he wants a divorce. What’s more, Gingrich says he’s been having an affair with Bisek.

2000: Gingrich and Bisek get hitched.

In November 1994, Newt Gingrich said: “It is madness to pretend that families are anything other than heterosexual couples. I think it goes to the core of how civilization functions.” However, Newt’s own example suggests a different belief: Families are heterosexual couples…plus at least one much younger mistress. If you don’t believe Gingrich, take it from John McCain, or Rudy Giuliani.

In 1978, Gingrich ran for congress with the slogan, “Let Our Family Represent Your Family.” Well, thanks, but no thanks, Newty. I’m all about forgiving, but forgetting is insulting the intelligence God and evolution bestowed so we wouldn’t be deluded when people like yourself crawl back out from under their rock.

Wasn’t it treatchery, deceit, sex, to many wars and the grab for absolute power that led to the downfall of Rome? As Rome played, everyone else grew in power and stature? Then for good measure they threw in a few temples to all the gods. Doesn’t this sound a bit familiar?

I’m usually far less concerned about a public servants personal habits than I am about their loyalty to our founding laws. However, when it comes to those who might end up being the prime example for an entire nation, maybe we should get someone other than an actor in a greek play.

I think marriage is still a legal contract and there are still adultry laws. I can’t imagine he would be anymore honorable about upholding laws that affect the rest of us if he ignores the ones that apply to him.
Says a lot about the respect he has for his kids too.

    Let’s face it. He’s a slime ball.

Pete: treachery, deceit, sex, many wars, grab for absolute power…I think the Bush administration has it all covered. ;-)

Xman: of all the things Gingrich has done, what annoys me most is how he demands the rest of America live up to some moral code of family values that he’s repeatedly failed to follow himself. You said it…slimmmmme baaaaalllll!

    Joe,

This is the Republican and Christian way. You sin, go get absolved of the sin and then do it again. It’s just a nice little merry-go-round that the leaders of moral values are on.

Sad, but mostly true…I won’t say totally true because I know some good-as-Ghandi Christians that are tolerant and good-to-the-core, quietly helping people without seeking attention or asking for handouts. I know a lot of atheists that fit the same mold…no belief (or nonbelief) system owns the patent for morals and character, as far as I’ve seen.

But for the most part, I would agree that the majority of people calling themselves Christians today seem to be equivalent with the Pharisees Jesus bitched at so much (Jesus, taken as historical person OR fictional character, depending on your belief.) I call them Amway Christians…trying to sell something, trying to make a buck, trying to convince themselves they are better than others by stepping all over other people.

It’s also been my experience that not all Republicans are buttheads…about a decade ago I ran into a Republican who didn’t seem conceited at all, and ever since I’ve kept my eyes open in case I ever run across another one ;-)
