What’s Up with Mr. Nice President?
Where has the new Mr. Nice President been for the last 6 years? And where did Mr. Mean President go?
Pell Grants for Low-Income Students
First, Education Secretary Margaret Spellings said on Thursday that President Bush’s 2008 budget will include a proposal for the biggest increase in Pell grants for low-income college students in three decades. Even more astounding: at this time there is no evidence that accepting Pell grant money will require giving your contact information to military recruiters, or signing up for a stint in the Middle East, either…
Hugging Pelosi’s Patriotic Baby Grandchild
Secondly, he seems to be going beyond the call of bipartisan duty to cuddle up to members of the Democratic Party. Heck, he even hugged Speaker Pelosi’s baby grandchild.
The President also told the House Democratic Caucus, “You know, I welcome debate in a time of war, and I hope you know that. Nor do I consider anybody’s — nor do I consider a belief that if you don’t happen to agree with me you don’t share the same sense of patriotism I do. You can get that thought out of your mind, if that’s what some believe.”
Is this the same President that, in November, 2001, said “you’re either with us or against us,” and whose administration HAS often questioned the patriotism of those who don’t unconditionally agree with everything it wants?
WTF?
So, what’s up with the nicer, gentler, saner President? I’ve narrowed it down to a few possibilities:
1. The doctor increased his Loxapac medication.
2. He’s realized impeachment and a war crimes trial is imminent; this nice act is just his idea of last-minute begging for mercy.
3. The fix for Iran is already in. Bush knows it’s too late to stop a false flag attack against the US which will unleash mini-nukes on Iran, and he’s happy.
4. That man is just plain good-old-fashioned unpredictably nuts.
There’s My Old Bushie!
Hold on a sec…this just in from the Pentagon:
Bush will ask for $100 billion more for military and diplomatic operations in Iraq and Afghanistan this year and seek $145 billion for 2008, a senior Pentagon official said Friday. Those requests come on top of about $344 billion spent for Iraq since the 2003 invasion that toppled Saddam Hussein.
Ahhhhhh, there’s the old Narcissist in Chief. Whew…feels good to be back in my codependent comfort zone again.
