Imagine, Ford, that type of person, was president over 30 years ago. And then look at where we are today. (Is the president the embodiment of the people as a whole?) Reading over Ford's comments, he sounds like a breath of fresh air--reasonable, prudent, intelligent. I think it's sad that what we once had now seems so exemplary in comparison.
